Shuvit
Description: A keystone skill that opens up pathways to other rotational tricks and adds extra flair to flip tricks. Jumping up and using your back foot to spin the board 180 degrees underneath you.
How To Perform: Shuving is a complex trick that requires attention to multiple different factors. Find a comfortable spot on the wave where you are moving neither forward nor backward. Drop your weight slightly, and imagine drawing a quarter circle with your back foot towards your back while jumping upward. It is important to keep your eyes down on the board to keep your body in the correct spot and decide when to land on the board. You must also keep your legs spread out; imagine a carton of eggs on the board between your feet you cannot land on when you come down. You cannot expect to land a shuvit just by performing the spin, you must remain focused until you are back on the board.
